Features City centre location Home to 562 students, Mercury Point is ideally situated to help you make the most of your time at university. Decide to live here and you’ll have a choice of en-suite rooms and studios, all of which come with their own private bathrooms. If you don’t want to share a kitchen and living space with flatmates, a studio is the best option for you. Being just a few streets from the city centre, Mercury Point is an ideal base for making the most of Southampton. West Quay Shopping Centre is the place to be if you like to shop or want to dine at one of your favourite restaurant chains, while you’ll find plenty of pubs, bars and clubs scattered across the city centre and the Cultural Quarter. Solent University is only 10 minutes away by foot, while the University of Southampton is a 40-minute bus ride away.

Payment and cancellation

Cancellation: If you need to change or cancel your booking with us, you can do so but you may still be liable to pay your rent if you completed your booking and are outside the cooling off period. You can find out more information in We understand that applying for a University place or a visa application can be a stressful process. That's why if you don't get the results you need or your visa application is declined, we'll cancel your booking free of charge giving you peace of mind. This cancellation request is available to customers who have not yet checked in. If you have already checked in please speak to your property manager. If you have already checked into your room and you wish to cancel or amend your booking please contact your property reception team who will be happy to advise you on the next steps. Deposit: Advance rent has replaced deposits for most of our bookings. Some students who book through their university may still be required to pay a deposit. Customers who have previously paid a deposit will have their deposit returned when rebooking. Advance rent is our new upfront payment type. It is a payment of a set amount (usually £250) towards your first rent instalment and is required at the point of booking. Advance rent will be exempt from anyone booking in Scotland, paying in full, rebooking or booking after the due date of the first instalment.

Guarantor: A guarantor is required for all customers who book directly with us. If your guarantor does not accept the agreement, your booking will expire and you could lose your room.
